Starting last year, Elite Airways began nonstop jet service from the local Fort Collins-Loveland Airport to Rockford, Illinois.  The new route has everyone excited, considering it's an easy way to hop over to a part of the U.S. many have not had the opportunity to visit yet.

Once you take your flight to Rockford, though, what do you do next?  Luckily, Elite Airways put together a list of things for us to enjoy once we get there...and hey, we might as well bring the family along, too!

    Riverfront Museum Park

The Riverfront Museum Park is an enormous arts and humanities complex that includes the Discovery Center Museum, the Rockford Art Museum, and so much more.  Wander around and get cultured for an afternoon-- it's an amazing feeling to learn something new about a place you don't know very well to begin with.

    Prairie Street Brewing Company

It's always fun to try out spots where the locals hang out, and this is definitely one of them.  Not only do they have an awesome beer selection, but Prairie Street also changes their menu with the seasons, so they have the freshest ingredients to serve.  We can't wait to try this place out.  Is it comparable to New Belgium or Odells?

    Anderson Japanese Gardens

This has been voted one of the highest quality Japanese gardens in North America by Sukiya Living Magazine since 2004, so you know it's good. The park stretches over 12 acres and you can schedule a tour-- you might even see a wedding ceremony as you're gazing upon the waterfalls or koi-filled ponds.
