When my wife got home from work on Friday afternoon, she could see the flames from our house in West Fort Collins. The Arthur's Rock Fire only burned about 2 acres before Poudre Fire Authority had it 100% contained. We could hear the thunder and see the lightning so we were not surprised to hear that the blaze, just west of Horsetooth Reservoir, was started by lightning.

Crews stayed on site Friday night to make sure it didn't flare up again. Tons of calls poured into Larimer County Emergency Services to report the smoke. So many calls were coming in that Poudre Fire Authority sent out a release asking residents to please stop calling.

Poudre Fire Authority sent us these dramatic photographs of the Arthur's Rock Fire to share with you.
