I recently watched ‘Batkid Begins’ - the story of how Make-A-Wish turned San Francisco into Gotham City for a little boy fighting Leukemia.  That was a tear-jerker. To see all those people come together to make him Batkid; rescuing people and fighting crime. I highly recommend seeing it.

Then, along comes this video from the Colorado chapter of Make-A-Wish.

More tissue, please… Wishes Matter.

Having grown up in Loveland, Colorado, I love how this video opens, because it talks about how the first wish granted in Colorado included a visit from a radio station icon at the time. The KIMN Chicken. Shut. Up. It’s like seeing an old friend!

‘They’re not about death, they’re about…. Life’ is a quote from the father in this video. Well said. Make-A-Wish gives families the chance to take a break. Take a breath. Get away from chemo, or whatever the child is going through, and smile for a while. To enjoy life.

Help. Strength. Joy. That’s what the folks at Make-A-Wish are helping to bring into the lives of kids and families that are going through the unthinkable.  You have to give them credit- they do go all out.

Founded in 1983 as one of the nation’s first Make-A-Wish® chapters, Make-A-Wish Colorado has granted more than 4,400 wishes to eligible children throughout the state, from Fort Collins to Telluride and Grand Junction to Burlington.

Watch the video, and think about how maybe you can help them… because Wishes do matter.
