A Colorado man accused of assaulting the mother of his children tried to evade police Sunday (July 31, 2016) by climbing and camping out in a tree for several hours. According to the Coloradoan, 30-year-old Lane Malouff was wanted on suspicion of trying to strangle and assault his children's mother this past June in Alamosa Colorado.

Malouff climbed a tree in Colorado Springs and stayed there for about five hours, during which local authorities attempted to evacuate nearby homes, not knowing danger level and if Malouff was armed. Eventually, the suspect climbed down after authorities used tear gas and water hoses on him.
