Colorado’s Ban on Some “Car Puffing” May be Coming to an End

It's common on cold Colorado mornings, to see unattended cars sitting on the side of the road and in driveways, running in an attempt to warm up. Unfortunately, this practice, known and "puffin," can result in a ticket for the driver. Laws against puffing have been in place, in an attempt to curb vehicle theft, when cars are left vulnerable, running with the driver safe and warm in their home. According to the Coloradoan, with the new law, drivers will still be ticketed if they leave their running car unattended. That is if their vehicle does not have a remote start system. This will allow driver to remote start their car on a cold Colorado morning, while keeping their keys away from the car, preventing any thefts.
