While most of slept in a deep December slumber, Congress passed the spending bill to the tune of $1 Trillion. Under the bill, it also protects Medical Marijuana.

The spending bill includes an amendment that prohibits the Department of Justice from using funds to go after state-legal medical cannabis programs. If the bill is signed into law, it will bring the federal government one step closer to ending raids on medical marijuana dispensaries, as well as stopping arrests of individuals involved with pot businesses that are complying with state law.

In a nutshell, the bill, if signed, will protect 23 states that have already made medical marijuana legal. If this happens, I would assume a big push will be made to remove marijuana from the schedule 1 list as well. I personally don't think it should be a schedule 1 drug anyway when most of the schedule 2 and 3 drugs and way worse and alcohol does more damage and ruins more lives than any of them, combined.

Hate it or not, world-renowned scientists and doctors have already proven that marijuana does in fact have medicinal qualities, and if it didn't, the Government wouldn't own a patent for it...since 2003. And if it didn't have a medicinal value, 23 states wouldn't have passed laws for it.

Although it hasn't been signed into law, even 70% of people in Washington D.C. have voted to make it legal.

It's time to be done with this whole thing...make it legal, regulate it, tax it or not; pick one.
