The Denver Zoo has been a place of mourning over the past few days, after the passing of their three-year-old lion Sango on Saturday (April 30, 2016). According to 9 News, Sango had been fighting a liver disease that had taken a turn for the worse over the past week. The decision was made to humanely euthanize Sango, after intensive treatment yielded no results, with him unable to walk or position himself to drink due to debilitating muscle tremors. Sango's two cubs Kalu and Kamara will remain at the zoo along with their mother and Sango's mate Neliah.
