Join us at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures on October 4 from 2-4 p.m. as Frida Kahlo, the famous Mexican self-portrait artist and feminist icon, is the topic of presentation. “The Fashioning of Frida” will be discussed and presented by Dr. Maricela DeMirjyn of Colorado State University. Dr. DeMirjyn will show through her artwork and stylized fashion Frida creates spaces regarding both gender and ethnic identity. Kahlo’s self-portraits will be explored to investigate the ways embodiment is theoretically posited in her artwork.
