Elisabetta Canalis, formerly known as “the girl George Clooney is sullying this week”, had a little fun in Antibes, France yesterday with Sacha Baron Cohen doing his full Dictator schtick for the Cannes Film crowd.

In an obvious attempt to get more people to pay attention to a movie that the entire world already knows about, The Dictator and Canalis were snapped by paparazzi lotioning-up each other, playfully jumping around the deck and acting just like two people getting paid to promote a movie.

Of course, things had to get CRAZY and Cohen pretended to kill Canalis, wrap her in a body bag and dump her overboard.  Oh the hilarity!

Canalis is also the former girlfriend of “Jackass” star Steve-O, so she is used to hanging around complete jokes.

In September 2009 a handful of famous British rock musicians, including Robert Plant, performed a concert at London’s O2 Arena as a benefit for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Foundation. A DVD of highlights of the show, which was called “Rockwell,” will be released on June 19 by MVD.

Plant performs three songs on this DVD, two of which, ‘Whole Lotta Love’ and ‘Black Dog,’ are from his days fronting Led Zeppelin. The third, ‘Fixin’ to Die’ is a cover of a blues song by Bukka White that Plant released on his 2002 album, ‘Dreamland.’ Bob Dylan also released a version of the song on his 1962 debut.

The DVD also features Tom Jones (‘It’s Not Unusual,’ ‘Sex Bomb’ and ‘It’s Your Thing’), Joss Stone and David Grey. For the finale, all the acts gather on stage to sing the Beatles‘ ‘Let it Be.’

Nordorff-Robbins uses music therapy as a form of treatment for such conditions as autism, dementia, stroke, brain injury and depression. According to their website, they “deliver over 50,000 music therapy sessions per year in care homes, day centres, hospitals, schools and our own centres. We are also developing a range of other music and health projects aimed at bringing music to more and more people in local communities.”

NBC’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ is pulling out at all the stops for the finale of its 37th season. First it was announced that Mick Jagger would be both the host and musical guest. Then they said that Jagger would be backed by Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire. Now they’ve added another rock legend to the proceedings, guitarist Jeff Beck.

Jagger and Beck have known each other since the beginning of their careers, having come up through the London blues scene that centered around the Ealing Club, and Beck even auditioned to join the group after Mick Taylor left in 1975. However, they have not often recorded together. Beck played on Jagger’s first two solo albums, 1985′s ‘She’s the Boss’ and 1987′s ‘Primitive Cool.’ The two most recently performed together in February in front of President Obama for ‘In Performance at the White House: Red, White and Blues.’

Many people are hoping that Jagger will drop some big news about an upcoming Rolling Stones album and/or tour during his appearance on ‘SNL.’ Earlier today it was learned that Stones guitarist Ron Wood is keeping October and November free. Let’s not forget that Wood got his start as the bass player in the Jeff Beck Group in 1968. We’ve been wrong before, but we think this is now too much of a coincidence for it to not be happening.

Nike’s always been known for pumping out some truly memorable commercials, but we’ve become used to their stylized productions. That is, until this spot for Nike Free Run jogged onto our TV sets. In it, a guy and a girl vow to run to each other from opposite coasts to meet in Kansas City – the ‘Paris of the Plains’. The dude’s out of shape, but the girl is a champ. Nike was even coy enough to slip in a couple cameos - Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (in NY) and pro skateboarder Theotis Beasley (in CA).

In the comments, another heated debate over Rosie vs. Megan Fox sprung up. Will that every die down? ‘Transformers Dark of the Moon’ came out last year, let’s move on. The OTHER girl grabbing eyeballs was the lithe redhead who reminded us of Courteney Cox meets Julia Roberts meets Jami Gertz. So, who is she (and why the HELL does she want to jump the bones of that out of shape dude)?

It’s Stephanie Lynn. The actress, singer & songwriter known as ‘Green Mountain Girl’ from Vermont was the perfect fit for this role – she “believes in love and the good in everyone”. Her TV credits include appearances on NBC’s short-lived series ‘Perfect Couples’ and ABC’s ‘Castle’. She also played the lead in the movie, ‘The Graduates’. You might’ve seen her in a McDonald’s commercial in August 2011, especially if you were watching ‘Armageddon’ on FX.

The film inspired by the Who‘s 1973 album ‘Quadrophenia’ is going to be re-released in the United States this summer. The new, high-def restoration will be available August 28 on DVD and Blu-Ray, and includes new interviews, commentary and behind-the-scenes footage.

The story follows “Jimmy,’ a teenager “dissatisfied with family, work, and love, who identifies with the fashionable, pill-popping, scooter-driving mods, a group whose opposition to the motorcycle-riding rockers leads to a climactic riot in Brighton (courtesy of Criterion.com).”

It’s a story of youthful rebellion staged around the band’s classic soundtrack. Songs like ’5:15,’ ‘The Real Me,’ ‘Dr. Jimmy’ and ‘Love, Reign o’er Me’ are just a few of the well-known cuts from the concept album that spawned the movie.

According to the band’s official website, the new release will include audio commentary from director Franc Roddam and director of photography Brian Tufano. Interviews with the Who’s co-manager and the sound engineer will also be available, in addition to on-set archival footage and a booklet featuring an essay by Nick James. Liner notes from Pete Townshend will also be available.

In November, the Who released a deluxe edition of the album. There has been talk of a 2012 tour based on the album, and of a sequel to the movie following Jimmy’s life after his Mod days.

Tom Cruise has gone from mega 80s superstar to couch-jumping nutball over the course of his career. With his off-screen demeanor calming down a bit, he’s revived his career (see: ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’) and he’s back on top of the Hollywood mountain, especially with his upcoming role in ‘Rock of Ages.’ But has his career resurgence made him go a bit bananas again?

While playing the role of sexed up 80′s rock idol Stacee Jaxx in the upcoming film adaptation of the popular musical ‘Rock of Ages,’ Cruise decided his character needed a sidekick to play with him in his musical jungle of groupies and glam. In W Magazine, Cruise talked about an accessory he felt the character of Jaxx needed to have for the movie:

I was thinking about the character, and I said, ‘You know what? I need a monkey.’ [Director] Adam [Shankman] said, ‘What the f— are you talking about?’ And I said, ‘I’m serious — I need a monkey.’ When Stacee’s not onstage, he’s kind of sad. And I thought, This guy has to have a monkey that’s his best friend. Adam found this baboon. He sent me the baboon’s audition tape, and I said ‘The baboon’s name has to be Hey Man.’ Stacee Jaxx doesn’t work without Hey Man.

Want Tom Cruise wants, Tom Cruise gets. If he wants a giant elephant in the room dressed as the Red Baron then I’m pretty sure Shankman is going to ask the costume designer to get to work. Cruise’s last film, ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’ earned rave reviews, and his quirky characters like Les Grossman in ‘Tropic Thunder’ showcased just how crazy-fun he can get. We’re looking forward to Cruise’s part in this movie musical but we just hope he doesn’t monkey around too much (ahem) when it comes to his performance.

‘Rock of Ages,’ which also stars Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Malin Ackerman, Mary J. Blige, Bryan Cranston and Alec Baldwin, rocks theaters on June 15th.

Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson is currently promoting his solo sequel to the band’s classic ‘Thick As A Brick’ album, but as he revealed in a recent interview, he’s got quite a few other projects in mind as well.

Speaking with the Morton Report, Anderson shared plans for three new projects that are on his radar at the moment. First on deck and perhaps the most predictable, he aims to re-work classics from the Jethro Tull catalog alongside a string quartet.

Anderson will add flute (of course!) to the renderings, and says that he’s working on the arrangement ideas with Tull keyboardist John O’Hara. Sense of humor fully on display, Anderson mused that the new versions “will be played at people’s weddings and funerals.”

Idea number two finds the veteran Jethro Tull frontman planning a more traditional singer/songwriter type release, but he’ll also look to follow that by adding some real volume to his workload. In fact, Anderson jokes that for his third project idea, he’ll aim to justify that “hard rock/heavy metal Grammy that we [Jethro Tull] won all of those years ago.”

Calling it “kind of a hard rock album,” Anderson says that “maybe the time has come to actually say, “You know? All right, maybe we are a hard rock/metal band.” I think I’d quite like to do one that’s kind of that full-on raging music. But whether I want to another whole album, or maybe just do a big 20-minute song, I don’t know.”

Commenting on the future of his main project, Anderson told Ultimate Classic Rock that he “would never say that it is the end of Jethro Tull.”

We never had Justin Bieber pegged as a big heavy metal lover, but maybe we misjudged the little twerp — while he doesn’t seem to have any Slayer or Mercyful Fate tattoos, it turns out he is in fact a big fan of Metallica.

However, please note, he will take his order of metal pre-’Enter Sandman.’ That’s right, the teen pop sensation apparently digs his Metallica vintage style: “‘One,’ ‘Fade to Black.’ Those are my jams,” the kid tells GQ magazine.  It’s hard to argue with his choices — most fans would gladly take ‘Ride The Lightning’ and ‘Kill ‘Em All’ over ‘Load’ or ‘St. Anger’ any day.

In the profile, the “Beeb” professed not only his love for those early Metallica tracks, but also to hitting the sauce, although not in anything close to the legendary quantities his newly revealed metal heroes were known for consuming. “For me, it’s just like, I like to be in control of myself. I mean, I’ve had a beer, like, before…. But I never get out of control.”

Ahhh, give him time, with that Metallica blasting and the suds flowing, the newly turned 18-year-old is ready to hop on that Lohan derailment train, right? Well, maybe not: “I keep my guard up a lot, because you know, you can’t trust anyone in this business,” Bieber said. OK, can’t argue with that.

One last note – despite being Canadian, every young girl’s favorite haircut on two legs speaks nothing of Rush! Zero! What’s the deal with that, JB?

A women in Superior, WI not only offered to sell off her ex-husband and his junk, but she also tagged a GMC Yukon with lots of bright graffiti and bad words. There’s also a flat tire on the vehicle. Warning: the photos are NSFW. But they sure are funny, as she calls him out for being a “cheater,” “a douche” and a “f—er.” We almost feel sorry for the car.

Not since Linda Barrett got revenge on Mike Damone and his (what-looked-like-a-Gremlin) car in ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ for impregnating her BFF Stacy by spraypainting “prick” on the door have we had such a hearty laugh at a scorned woman expressing her rage and wrath on a vehicle. You’ve never…go watch it right now. We’ll wait.

Local radio station MIX108 and its quick snapping photog captured the images, including ones of the cops arriving on the scene around 4PM to inspect the debris. There was also a pile of ash on site, which would indicate that the angry woman set her ex’s things on fire and that which she didn’t burn, she left strewn in a heap.

The truck was removed about an hour later, but his stuff remained on the lawn. Everyone has to air their dirty laundry once in a while and express their rage, but this mess makes the property values plummet!

Nope, we can’t stop humming that Carrie Underwood song either.

The latest in a series of wide-ranging videos at Van Halen‘s official website features the elder band members sitting around a camera talking about old times like three friends sucking down brewskies in the garage. David Lee Roth leads a discussion in which Eddie and Alex Van Halen share how they would rig their stage and electronics to be ahead of their time in the early ’70s.

The video starts off a little slow with the three talking about naps, but soon each is sharing stories of the broke vehicles they would tour in, and their early smoke machine. The latter sounds very, very dangerous. Early gigs even featured a light show. “We had all the essential colors,” Eddie Van Halen says.

“We had red, white, green and off,” Roth answers laughing.

Many stories begin wit,h “Remember the …” As in, remember the wet t-shirt contests, and remember the way we’d set up the microphones. “For solos I would dance over and hold the vocal mic over to you,” Roth says as the brothers crack up. The impromptu nine-minute long interview ends with them talking about women — drunk women.

“You never give supermodels champagne until there’s 90 minutes left in the photo shoot because their little pancreases can’t handle the sugar,” Roth advises. “And for about 90 minutes everybody’s gonna be all tits and pits and after 90 minutes (falls asleep on Al’s shoulder).”

The induction of Guns N’ Roses into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April gave us plenty to write about at the time. It was so controversial that, a month later, news is still coming out. Today we learned that Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong, who gave their induction speech, nearly sang lead vocals in place of Axl Rose, who declined to participate on the eve of the ceremony.

In his column at Seattle Weekly, bassist Duff McKagan wrote about the experience, and how quickly it all came together, with a little bit of perspective after having watched it on television recently.

The night before the ceremony, McKagan had a book reading at the House of Blues in Cleveland, which was attended by the members of Green Day. At the time, nobody knew what was going to happen, so, according to McKagan, ‘Billie Joe and I devised a plan where he would sing whatever was needed…if needed.”

Following the reading, which ended at 2:00AM, everybody involved got together for their only rehearsal — 14 hours before the event. As it turned out, Myles Kennedy, the vocalist in Slash‘s band, was around to handle vocal duties. But Armstrong was still invited onstage to trade lines with Kennedy on ‘Mr. Brownstone.’

With a new album coming out, Rush are ramping up their publicity machine. On Thursday (May 10) bassist and vocalist Geddy Lee appeared on Real Radio XS in the United Kingdom to talk about ‘Clockwork Angels,’ namely, why it took so long for it to come to fruition.

Lee explained that the genesis of the album came about in 2010 when they were planning the ‘Time Machine’ tour. “We didn’t feel good about going out without anything new,” Lee said. “It feels to us that we need new material to stay contemporary in our view. So we…started writing some material based on an idea that we had discussed the previous winter for a potential album featuring a single story line. So we wrote four of those songs and two of them, we recorded very quickly, one called ‘Caravan’ and the other called ‘BU2B.’”

Rush was able to include the songs on the ‘Time Machine’ tour, which began in June 2010 featured the band playing their 1981 album ‘Moving Pictures’ in its entirety. But the tour, which was only supposed to last three or four months, was so successful that they took it around the world.  The tour’s last show was July 2, 2011.

“Long story short,” Lee continued. “In the fall of this past year, 2011, we finally got back together to continue writing and putting the rest of the album together, and finished it in February.”

‘Clockwork Angels’ is coming out on Roadrunner Records on June 12.

The line’s not Victoria’s Secret, Frederick’s of Hollywood or Agent Provocateur by any means and we’d go so far to say that the woman is too good for her undergarments, but we applaud Vanity Fair for trying.  So, who is this tall, blue-eyed blonde beauty?

It’s Sandrine Marlier, a French model who graduated from the Universite de Caen in 2002 with a degree in Literature and is repped by Click Models (NY, LA), Next Models (Miami, London), and Louisa Models in Germany.

In 2006, she covered ‘Brides’ magazine and in 2010, she had a guest role on HBO’s ‘How To Make It in America’.  On top of appearing in a print campaign for IZOD, you can see her bouncing around in this spot for ‘The Territory Ahead‘. To paraphrase one of his more famous solo songs, “All he’s got is a photograph,” and now, Ringo Starr doesn’t even have quite as many of those anymore, having apparently lost some important Beatles photographs.

Always something of an amateur photographer from as far back as the early Beatles days, Ringo had quite a collection of candid and unique shots of his band mates — behind the scenes, backstage, at home, at work, at play as it were. For whatever reason, Starr never compiled these photos in any public manner. Now, it appears, that chance may never come.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Ringo says “I don’t know where they are. I wish I did.” Though he has hopes that they will surface one day he adds, “There’s been several moves and things happen.” Don’t give up on the man! This kind of discovery of misplaced items has happened before. “I found a box on my shelf and was like, ‘What the hell is that?’” Starr recalled “And it was full of the postcards.”

That discovery became a much loved book Starr published in 2004. ‘Postcards From The Boys’ was a collection of correspondence between Ringo and his band mates over the years which made for a very interesting peek into a very casual and private side of Beatle relations.

“At the time we were moving house yet again, and the secretary I had at the time decided to put them all in envelopes and put them in a shoebox. That’s how I found out I still had them.” he said of those postcards. “So you never know, one day I may find another box with all my photos.”

The man chosen to replace Scott Weiland as frontman for Velvet Revolver is … Scott Weiland. The oft-troubled singer is back with the band, and they’re making new music with an eye on a third studio album.

During an interview with ABC News Radio, Weiland talked about how far the band has already progressed. “They gave me a couple of songs and myself and Dave (guitarist Dave Kushnter) and Duff (bassist Duff McKagan) are gonna be getting together for a song writing session next week.”

Before the end of 2012, the band will be hitting the road. It won’t be until after Slash finishes touring in support of his upcoming solo album ‘Apocalyptic Love,’ which hits stores on May 22. Weiland said late summer or early fall is a fair timetable for a few live dates.

“We’ve all grown a lot,” the singer says about the past turbulence which split the band up. ”We’re able to put egos and differences and old … conflicts aside and so that’s really cool.”

The band has been on hiatus since 2008 when Weiland was let go after a series of conflicts and his arrest for driving under the influence of drugs. Corey Taylor of Slipknot was mentioned as a potential replacement, but reportedly Slash wasn’t on board with that decision. Just two weeks ago Weiland and Matt Sorum speculated that a reunion would be possible.

In the frantic world of financial news reporting, it’s best to be ready for whatever comes your way. Be it a market crash, or a news camera in your face when you least expect it. Because that’s what happened to Bloomberg’s Sara Eisen who was caught on camera fixing her skirt during a pan through the newsroom. 

The video starts with a news presenter cutting to the markets’ desk where analyst Sheila Dharmarajan is barely audible due to some technical issues. So to save (her) face, the camera moves to Eisen, who unfortunately was caught off guard in a far more embarrassing situation.

Many on the internet are now speculating why a professional like Eisen was caught off guard. Whatever the reason, Eisen at least knew what to say to keep the show going. Still, that’s another reporter blunder for our “news bloopers” collection.
