Jazz FM listeners who normally tune in for smooth sounds instead heard some rough stuff when a UK station’s ‘Funky Sensation’ program played the full audio from a pornographic movie over the airwaves this weekend.

Station representatives were light on details as to who or what caused the gaffe, claiming it was the result of “unauthorized access to the live feed.” Jazz FM Program Director Mike Vitti promised swift punishment for the unnamed culprit and said listeners should expect an apology (sans explicit grunting) when they tune in this weekend.

Vitti originally tweeted on Saturday that the unintended broadcast was “a major hack into the feed” and that station engineers were investigating.

Long before Drew Carey, ‘The Price Is Right’ was hosted by a master swordsman by the name of Bob Barker. Barker found a way to make a game of Plinko interesting by surrounding himself with some of the loveliest ladies on the planet. There wasn’t a teenage boy who didn’t fain interest in a game of Cliff Hangers played by a Ohio grandmother, just so he could catch a glimpse of a model’s prize package.

Through research, we learned a few things that every blue-blooded American male should know about ‘The Price Is Right’ models. We found out that there are only five models in ‘rotation’, and that at any given time five ex-models sued the show over some sort of grievance.

Fans from all walks of life are gearing up for Lynyrd Skynyrd‘s sixth annual Simple Man Cruise, which will set sale over the Halloween weekend.

Like all the band’s previous cruises, the 2012 lineup will leave fans anxiously awaiting the next cruise and the one after that. Joining the legendary rockers for this year’s cruise will be The Doobie Brothers, The Outlaws and Blackberry Smoke, as well as over fifteen other national and regional Southern rock bands that will be announced in the coming weeks.

As previously reported, the cruise aboard the Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pearl ship will set sale from Miami, Fla., and make stops in Key West and Great Stirrup Cay on Oct. 27, concluding on Halloween (Oct. 31). In addition to the amazing musical lineup and various shows on the ship, cruise-goers will also have the enjoyment of the all-inclusive meals, access to two pools on board, hot tubs, massive spa, rock climbing wall and a full fitness center.

Never one to promote certainty, the members of Guns N’ Roses have once again left fans wondering if a full reunion is likely or even possible when they’re inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April. Slash doesn’t deny Dizzy Reed’s claim that the band is getting back together for one night in Cleveland, but he hardly confirms it.

“I know that there’s a lot of rumor about it, as always when it comes to GNR, out there on the Internet and stuff, but as it stands right this second, I have no idea what’s going on,” the guitarist said in an interview with Mike Jones of Washington D.C. rock radio station DC101.

The band is being recognized on April 14, and Reed got longtime fans excited last week by saying the entire original band — including Axl Rose, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan, Steven Adler and Slash — would be present. Reed, Matt Sorum and Gilby Clarke joined later.

“I know that all the original band is going to be there, I don’t know exactly what’s going to go down,” Reed told Billboard. “It’s one of those things I’m sure will all come together and be really cool. I’m just going to go in with a good attitude and a clear head and a grateful heart.”

Slash’s deflection of the question is a step up from his angry denial in December. The guitarist did say that he was honored to be included in this class, which includes Donovan, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Beastie Boys and others. “It was very flattering to get that initial phone call to say we were nominated,” he said adding that finding out the band was being inducted was a cherry on an already delicious sundae.

Keeping sharp notice of what you spend each day, will better allow you to reduce the amount of frivolous purchases, like that expensive cup of coffee you buy every morning. Candura suggests either keeping a mental list, or a physical list of what you usually spend for a two week period, then making necessary adjustments, will benefit you greatly. If you have a Smartphone download apps like Mint.com, an application that connects to your bank account to track and categorize expenditures; or Balance, a basic app to help you manage the balances on all of your accounts by manually inputting all expenses.

Save Money When You Can

For some, a fancy night on the town is synonymous with a good time, but that’s usually not the case. Instead of a pricey restaurant try cooking at home. A survey lead by Men’s Health asked 1,000 women what they thought made a man “hot”, and being able to cook was in the top five under the category of having pragmatic skills. So a trip to the grocery store instead of the restaurant may work better in your sexual favor.

It’s Cheaper to Plan Ahead

If you’ve committed yourself to a weekly date night with your lady, be sure to pre-plan where you go. This way you can research and take advantage of deals like Seize the Deal or LivingSocial, or phone apps like Scoutmob, that gives incredible discounts that are typically given on a first come first serve basis. If you are able to map out your dates, you’ll be able to budget your money much more easily.

Chickenfoot has announced a 20-date 2012 U.S. tour in support of their recent album ‘III.’ The trek, dubbed the “Different Devil Tour 2012,” will kick off May 4 in Lake Tahoe, Nev. and wind up June 10 in Los Angeles, Calif.

With founding drummer Chad Smith still caught up on the Red Hot Chili Peppers tour, the lineup for these dates will feature Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony and drummer Kenny Aronoff. The tour is named after the band’s current single ‘Different Devil‘ — reviewed here — and will be their first major-scale tour since the release of the new album.

If the reviews from the group’s brief November small club “Road Test” tour are any indication, fans can expect a healthy dose of songs from both Chickenfoot albums, but no tracks from any of the band member’s solo careers or Hagar and Anthony’s time together in Van Halen.

As Hagar explained in a recent interview, “We really do not want to dilute this band and become a Van Halen cover band, or become a Sammy Hagar cover band or a Joe Satriani cover band… The idea is that we are Chickenfoot, and we will stay that.”

Brian Gary at country station K99 in Fort Collins is a big dude. No doubt, he felt more than confident taking fellow DJ Shawn Patrick, a not so big dude, in a Twinkie-eating contest, with the loser agreeing to get ‘Twinkie the Kid’ tattooed on his body.

It was an underdog win for Shawn, though, who somehow managed to pack away more of the apocalypse-proof confections than Brian. Brian stayed true to the terms of the bet, and got the lasso-swinging, cowboy-hat-wearing Twinkie inked on his shoulder — while live on air! His coworkers were kind enough to capture his stupidity, uhh, bravery on video:

The revitalized Van Halen are ready to light up the sky with their current tour. Even though the trek is just kicking into gear, they are already changing things up a bit. At last night’s show at The Palace Of Auburn Hills in Michigan, they dug deep into the old kit bag and pulled out ‘Girl Gone Bad.’

This obscure gem from the ’1984′ album planted itself right in the middle of a, shall we say, diggin-the-chicks section of the show with ‘Women In Love’ preceding and ‘Beautiful Girls’ following. The crowd was obviously wowed.

From what we can gather, the band hasn’t played this particular song in concert since the ’1984′ tour. It appears that the boys have been making a conscious effort to swap a song or two from night to night to keep things interesting and keep the fans guessing as to what buried treasure they might unearth on any given night — bravo to them for that. Bruce Springsteen has just unveiled the new song ‘Easy Money’ from his upcoming album ‘Wrecking Ball,’ which is scheduled for release in the USA on March 6. The new title is Springsteen’s 17th album to date and was launched in Paris during a recent press conference.

According to an announcement earlier today, one track from ‘Wrecking Ball’ will be streamed on a different U.S. website daily. Today’s stream is an exclusive for Backstreets.com as they kick off this virtual tour of the long-awaited new album. All 11 ‘Wrecking Ball’ tracks will be revealed in proper sequence over the coming days.

‘Easy Money’ finds Springsteen and company keeping to tradition and delivering a foot stompin’, fiddle-driven, choral-filled single that takes on the topic of going out on the town, looking for easy money.

Kiss and Queen (featuring Adam Lambert on vocals) will headline separate nights of the 2012 Sonisphere Festival in England this summer. This news seemingly ends weeks of speculation as to whether or not Lambert would be joining Queen in some capacity.

The three night festival kicks off Friday, July 6 at Knebworth Park with a bill topped by a “European exclusive” headlining performance by Kiss, who are preparing to release their 20th studio album ‘Monster’ sometime in 2012.

Queen and their new ‘American Idol’-bred buddy will highlight the festivities the next night (Saturday, July 7), with help from the Darkness and Ghost among others. Faith No More will head up the third and final night on Sunday (July 8). Color all us stateside rock fans extremely jealous!

Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider, known for his outrageous stage persona, revealed himself to be — and this is no surprise for his longtime fans — a thoughtful, caring and productive team member on the debut episode of this season’s ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ tonight. 

As usual, the celebrities on the show were divided up by gender. After comedian Adam Carolla suggested some pretty funny names for their team, the men unanimously decided on… “Unanimous.”  Yes, that’s the name, not the start of an Abbott and Costello routine.

‘American Chopper’ star Paul Teutul, Sr. volunteered to be the team leader on this week’s challenge, which simply involved setting up a temporary sandwich shop and trying to sell their wares for outrageous prices.

Even though he wasn’t in charge, Snider made some smart suggestions, such as using ‘Incredible Hulk’ star Lou Ferrigno, Teutul, Sr. and magician Penn Jillette as the outdoor, attention-grabbing team: “You three are giants, and you’re (to Jillette) a carnival barker.”

He quickly became the team’s narrator, explaining each move they made, and keeping the mood light with quips like, “Hey, Lou, you need to do some push-ups?” and “I think we were breaking several local ordinances…I was having a blast!”

Although it looked like they were having trouble matching the women’s team in terms of sales, an extremely generous mystery donor was good for 90% of the $330,000 winning total raised by the men. That means they got to watch as the women voted off (a seemingly grateful to escape) Cheryl Tiegs while sipping on champagne.

However, it looks like next week’s episode is going to be much tougher on Snider, as a preview showed him dressed up in drag at ‘Medieval Times,’ injuring his finger and undergoing surgery! Stay tuned…

Elit by Stolichnaya has been trying to up their vodka game with high-priced, high-class brands that have gone through more cold-filtration and aging than a cryogenics lab. Their new “Pristine” brand – priced at $3,000 a bottle – should come with a heavenly light shining on it at all times.

Stolichnaya announced the “elit Pristine Waters Series Himalayan Edition,” which uses water collected from the freezing cold majesty of the Himalayas.

The water comes from a special reservoir located 10,000 miles above sea level in Nepal. Stolichnaya claims the mountain range serves as the perfect filter for vodka water since the melted snow runs through several layers of rock making it “some of the most unspoiled in the world.” I’m sure that calling a vodka “extra virgin” would be a little too misleading.

If that’s not impressive enough, the price tag is certainly eye-popping. Each bottle of the special vodka costs a whopping $3,000 and comes with a handmade oak case and a special golden ice pick. We imagine it’s the kind of vodka that God would have in his martini.

Van Halen hit the ground running on the first show of their 2012 tour in Louisville, Ky. tonight (Feb. 18), proving that a four-year layoff has done pretty much nothing to diminish their ability to delight a sold-out arena crowd with both old and new songs.

Hitting the stage with little fanfare — no dropping curtain, no pyro, very little in the way of warm-up music — via their familiar show-starter ‘You Really Got Me,’ the blood-related trio of Alex, Eddie and Wolfgang Van Halen and their charismatic frontman David Lee Roth quickly had the fans on their side.

A gigantic video screen behind the band displayed live footage along with some scrolling photos and images to fill out the visual presentation for the evening. Free to roam on the extremely clean, simple stage thanks to his new headset microphone (inspired by perhaps Janet Jackson, or, dare we say… Sammy Hagar? Nahhh), Roth proved to be an ageless wonder, dancing and sliding across the stage with grace and boundless energy.

Even more impressively, he was in strong voice throughout, even as any notion of sticking to the original lyrics on tunes like ‘Hot for Teacher’ and ‘Everybody Wants Some!!’ was joyfully jettisoned in favor of some classic stream-of-consciousness musings. (It should go without saying by now that Eddie, Alex and Wolfgang performed with precision and fire all night, but if that wasn’t obvious, let the record be clear!)

The 22-song set list featured four songs from the band’s new album ‘A Different Kind of Truth,’ and if we had to quibble with anything about tonight’s excellent show, it would be with which tracks from that album made the cut. We were really hoping for ‘Big River,’ ‘You and Your Blues,’ ‘Blood and Fire’ and especially ‘Outta Space’ in addition to early show highlight ‘She’s the Woman.’

Instead, we got ‘China Town,’ which went over rather well, along with ‘The Trouble With Never’ and ‘Tattoo’ which didn’t succeed quite as much, the latter kicking off the first obvious “bathroom break” exodus of the evening.

This minor (and highly subjective) complaint was more than washed away by the late-set 1-2-3 punch of songs from the band’s 1979 sophomore album ‘II,’ including ‘Beautiful Girls’ together with the long-unheard ‘Women in Love’ and ‘Outta Love Again.’ This sequence also found the band locking into the most satisfying, slightly relaxed groove of the evening.

Following that, we got ‘Ice Cream Man,’ whose intro found Roth rhapsodizing about the difference between his sheep- and cattle-herding dogs, an exceptionally jaw-dropping (and somewhat economical) guitar solo showcase from Eddie Van Halen, and the group’s now-traditional and confetti-aided finale ‘Jump.’

Any one of the tens of thousands of fans in attendance could have easily named six more songs they’d still want to hear, but nobody could say we didn’t get our money’s worth.

In a deal that reportedly took three years to complete, Pete Townshend has sold all the publishing rights to his entire catalog – approximately 400 songs between the Who and his solo career – to the Spirit Music Group, a firm that specializes in placing songs in commercials, movies and television shows. Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but the arrangement, which was announced last month, is rumored to be as much as $100 million.

“It’s the biggest deal we’ve made so far,” Spirit president Mark Fried told Rolling Stone, apparently stopping just short of calling it a bargain, the best he’s ever had. Fried plans to look deeper into Townshend’s body of work than the classic rock staples like ‘Who Are You’ and ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ that have formed the bulk of product placement in recent years, most famously in CBS’ ‘CSI’ franchise.

Indeed, we can easily envision Townshend’s Top Ten solo hit, ‘Let My Love Open The Door,’ in a commercial for Genie garage door openers. Maybe ‘Christmas’ can replace that annoying instrumental that Lexus bombards us with every December. Poland Spring or Aquafina can find a natural fit in the early-70s live staple ‘Water,’ and hearing ‘Cut My Hair’ coming out of our TVs would undoubtedly get some of us to finally spring for a Flowbee.

Townshend is no stranger to licensing his music. Back in 1967, the Who recorded jingles for Coca-Cola that were briefly used in a UK ad campaign. The band also pioneered the concept of tour sponsorship in 1982 when Schlitz put up good money to have their beer associated with the Who’s first farewell tour, both in print and TV commercials.

Once again, the hard rock world will spend Memorial Day Weekend converging on Pryor, Okla. for the seventh annual Rocklahoma Festival. Earlier today, AEG Live, the promoters of the festival, announced the lineup for the three-day event. As usual, this year’s roster brings together many top present and classic hard rock and metal acts from May 25-27.

Rob Zombie, Chickenfoot and Creed will headline the event, with Megadeth, Slash and Queensryche among the other big names that will perform. Other well known groups to rock Pryor’s “Catch the Fever” Festival Grounds include Jackyl, Puddle Of Mudd and The Darkness. In total, 38 acts will perform on three stages over the course of the festival. Rocklahoma’s website has a complete list.

“Rocklahoma has quickly become the rock ‘n’ roll party of Memorial Day Weekend, and 2012 is going to take the party to a whole new level,” said Joe Litvag of AEG Live. “We’ve got a great balance of talent this year with some amazing classic artists covering the last three decades along with plenty of today’s rock.”

Tickets for Rocklahoma will go on sale Feb. 24 at 10AM CST at Ticketmaster and the festival’s website.
