Firefighter Injured in Pingree Park Prescribed Burn West of Fort Collins

A firefighter was injured Monday on the Pingree Hill Prescribed Burn, located south of Red Feather Lakes, east of Rustic. The firefighter was taken by ambulance to North Colorado Medical Center, where his condition was not available. No other injuries were reported.

The Pingree Hill Prescribed Burn project is currently under monitoring status.  Firefighters will remain on scene for several days to patrol. Currently, the weather forecast does not allow for continued burning at Pingree Hill until later this week at the earliest.

On Sunday approximately 150 acres of the burn were accomplished, bringing the total to around 400 acres since Friday.
