This case of every father-to-be's nightmare, thankfully, tells more like a tale of happily ever after.

I'm in the 'expectant father' club, and the thing we all fear is that something will go sideways with our vehicle when we have to drive our wife to the hospital at the beginning of labor.

It happened to a Thornton couple. Icy weather made the driving dad-to-be slide into a curb, breaking the tire, right as his wife's breathing went from "I think I'm going into labor!" to "It's coming right now!"

And they were so close. They could see the hospital in fact, as the incident occurred in the entrance of the facility. What did dad do? What any dad would do. He helped deliver his baby.
