A group that is based in Washington D.C. is suing Colorado in federal court to stop the sale of legal marijuana.

Safe Streets Alliance is filed their lawsuit and announced it in Denver.

A property owner from Pueblo who says that a grow facility next to her land has "devastated her quality of life and property value" represents the local connection to the group with ties to D.C.

Safe Streets has brought this suit with one overriding purpose--to end the sale of recreational marijuana in this state. Safe Streets seeks to vindicate the principle, that federal law is the supreme law of the land.

The group held their news conference on the steps of the capitol building in Denver, with supporters of legal marijuana looking on holding signs that said "Regulation Works".
