If you're the type that wants to know exactly how decisions are made for your city and live in Fort Collins, CityWorks 101 is just for you.

Many grumble about how a town or city is run. If you've lived in the Fort Collins Growth Management Area for at least a year, classes are being offered to teach you the complete workings of the city.

How are your tax dollars being spent? Want to know the detailed specifics on city operations? How does the police department actually work? Do you want to make Fort Collins the best place to live?

CityWorks 101 will teach you all that and much more but the 8-week class is limited to only 30 people and you must be willing to complete the entire course.

  • Learn the in's and out's of your local government
  • Learn about finances, economic health, and community planning
  • Get behind the scenes of police operations
  • Learn about street operations, traffic, parking, transit, etc.
  • Find out how the cities utilities are run
  • Learn about your local parks and trails, recreation and cultural services
  • Look inside the city budget

Classes take place on Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. from April 2 through May 21, 2015. The program is limited to only 30 and you must apply and sign up. For more information or to apply, click on the link below.
