The body of a man found at an open space trail head in Boulder County has been identified as a Johnstown man.

According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office is investigating death at Hall Ranch Open Space. The man who died was identified by the coroner's office as 47-year-old Damond Welch of Johnstown.

Hikers returning to their vehicle at the Bitterbrush Trailhead came upon the body and called county dispatch.

Officials said foul play is not suspected. Our thoughts and prayers go out to friends and family.
