Loveland's restaurant/nightlife scene has lost another spot.

After more than eight years at 29th and Garfield, Island Grill shuttered it's doors this week.  Why do you think the local spot couldn't make it in Loveland?

They had a great patio, great food, a great staff, and that great big aquarium. It's hard to believe that Island Grill has decided to close down their Loveland location.  Their Fort Collins location off of Lemay and Drake remains open, leaving quite a little road trip for Lovelanders to enjoy a little break- baja style.

They help spread the word via their Facebook page:

Unfortunately The Island Grill in Loveland is permanently closed for business. We would like to thank all of our loyal customers for their patronage and our dedicated staff for all of their hard work! Please come visit us at the Fort Collins location. Thank you

This is another long-standing Loveland restaurant to recently close. The legendary Widow McCoy closed it's doors in late 2013 after decades of serving Loveland.

Island Grill's location in Palmer Gardens has seen several restaurant/bars open and close over the past 20 years.  It always seemed to be a cool, localized place to meet friends for fun.  What other places are folks going to instead? Are they going downtown? Out to the Centerra area?  What do you think the reason is for their closing?
