The Denver Broncos are gearing up to take on the San Diego Chargers at home on Sunday and for the first time ever in his 18-year NFL football career, Peyton Manning will be serving as the backup quarterback.

Brock Osweiler will once again be getting the start, but Peyton has been practicing with the team for most of the week, and will be suited up on the sideline during Sunday's game. It's definitely a good sign to at least see him back in uniform after missing the past six games in a row, but as of now, Coach Kubiak hasn't said whether or not Peyton will go back to being the starter for the Broncos during the playoffs. He is currently taking the recovery of his torn plantar fascia one day at a time, and the team is focusing solely on this week's important game. With a win against the Chargers (4-11), the Broncos (11-4) can clinch the number two seed as well as a first-round bye in the playoffs.
