The great thing about making a solid living in music and entertainment is the ability it gives you to live near people doing the same thing. Though their styles may be different, Grateful Dead‘s Bob Weir can look down the street and occasionally catch sight of the “Red Rocker” himself, Sammy Hagar.

The Grateful Dead may be no more, but their music will live on forever in a series of archival releases that seem to have no end in sight. The Dead have announced the upcoming release of ‘Spring 1990,’ a massive 18-disc box set that spotlights six performances from the group’s 25th Anniversary tour, which many fans have dubbed their “last great tour.”

Scheduling another opportunity for fans of the Grateful Dead to congregate nationally, the legendary San Francisco group will reach deep into the vaults to screen a previously unreleased concert performance for the first time ever.

Far out, man! The Grateful Dead have announced plans for an interactive video game titled ‘The Epic Tour’ that’s based on the real-life experience of following the Dead on the road. The preparatory stage ”Phase One” of the game has just launched, with full-on game play set to begin in April 2012.
