When it comes to Rush‘s recent wave of TV and movie exposure — most notably the 2009 big-screen comedy ‘I Love You, Man’ — Alex Lifeson admits he and band mates Geddy Lee and Neil Peart “still scratch their heads over this whole thing.”

Rush look to have its highest charting album in nearly 20 years. Billboard is reporting that ‘Clockwork Angels‘ will likely debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 when the chart is released on Wednesday (June 20).

There are so many reasons why ‘Clockwork Angels,’ Rush‘s 19th studio album, should suck — we lack the appropriate space to list them all.

Who gets Geddy Lee giddy?! Exactly! The Rush vocalist may be a legend in the music industry but even he has his moments of being a fan boy, and his most recent instance came when meeting a member of the Who.

With a new album coming out, Rush are ramping up their publicity machine. On Thursday (May 10) bassist and vocalist Geddy Lee appeared on Real Radio XS in the United Kingdom to talk about ‘Clockwork Angels,’ namely, why it took so long for it to come to fruition.

Perhaps being the recipient of the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award at the Golden Gods Awards last month wasn’t enough, but Rush have had another honor bestowed upon them. The group was in Ottawa on Thursday (May 3) where they were given the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award, Canada’s highest recognition for achievement in the arts.

With a new album on the way, the career of Rush is far from stagnant. But they’ll get saluted with an award for their achievements to date at the fourth annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards on April 11.

It’s been a bad week for controversial radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh. Following offensive comments he made after Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke’s testimony before Congress, more than 35 companies have pulled their advertising from his syndicated radio show. Earlier in the week, Peter Gabriel demanded that his songs not be used by Limbaugh, and now Rush has joined Gabriel.

The forthcoming ‘Clockwork Angels’ release from Rush continues to grow in scope with the announcement that the album will be novelized by science fiction author Kevin J. Anderson.

On the surface, Cleveland might seem like an odd location for a band like Rush to film their new ‘Time Machine’ concert film, but as frontman Geddy Lee explains, it was a natural choice.

Musicians know that the Rush catalog is loaded with Neil Peart’s distinct, intricate drum work. Aspiring percussionists can get an inside look at the master’s approach via his new instructional DVD, which is scheduled for an Oct. 14 release.
