The studio lines were ringing off the hook with morning travelers warning of major congestion on southbound I-25 Tuesday (July 12, 2016) morning due to a major accident. According to the Reporter-Herald, around 4:30 a.m., a semi-truck collided with an unoccupied Colorado Traffic Control vehicle. Both vehicles were heavily damaged, and the accident closed down all the lanes of southbound I-25, requiring vehicles to use the median to get around the wreckage. The incident required several hours to clean up the debris, with a substantial amount of oil and fluids spread across the ground. It also took time for special equipment to arrive to cut the Traffic Control vehicle from the guardrail.

Luckily, no one was hurt in the accident, and no charges have been filed at this time against the driver of the semi-truck. The area was cleaned up and the regular flow of traffic resumed at 7:48 a.m.
