We have a new baby.

He was born to parents of two different allegiances.

Hers lies with John Elway, Mile High, and the Rocky Mountains.

Mine stays forever with Jack Lambert, burning cauldrons of melted toughness, anda stadium that lies at the confluence of three rivers and ketchup.

That's right. She's a Broncos fan. I'm for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

For whom will our son root?

I know one thing, the Steelers side of the family is much more apt to attempt to influence the situation than the Broncos side. That includes my friends, who have already started the brainwashing. I've received shirts for the Pirates, Penguins and Steelers. They had all three covered before he was three months old.

Black and gold look really great on Huck.

The only other sports gear I've received is a Detroit Lions onesie, which I really appreciate, but don't think I can make my hands put it on him.

I have very little experience with this in my past, because where I'm from, there is only one team.

In Colorado, a land of transplants, you see it all the time. Mom is from Chicago, and a Cubs fan. Dad is from St. Louis, and he likes the Cards. Of course, you realize, this means war...right?

Does dad usually win these battles?
