Youth Can Learn to Fly at Young Eagles Day at the Fort Collins-Loveland Airport [CANCELLED]
If you have a child that's interested in aviation, bring them out to Young Eagles Day and Pancake Breakfast, happening on Saturday, March 25 at the Fort Collins-Loveland Airport. Not only will your kiddo get to check out the airplanes in-person, but they will actually get the chance to fly one too!
The pilot will explain what to expect during the flight, as well as perform a careful "walk around" pre-flight inspection of the airplane with each guest. Most Young Eagle flights last between 15 and 20 minutes, and once back on the ground, there will be additional time for kids to ask questions. Parents may ride along if the aircraft to be flown is able to carry an extra passenger during the flight. Parents can print out the Adult Passenger Waver and bring it to the event or fill one out on the day of. Each young pilot will also receive a Young Eagles logbook, which will be signed by your personal pilot. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers. The EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested young people, ages 8-17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
UPDATE: ANNOUNCED 3/16 THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
