According the an article in the Denver Westword, the film fest could be cancelled permanently. Which would be sad new for horror film fans from Colorado and others who travel to Northern Colorado to come to the festival.

The festival was dubbed the "Sundance of horror films" and possibly lived a very short life with a three year run from 2013-2015. The Stanley Hotel has parted ways with the festival producers and have decided to hos a symposium to discuss the possible construction of a $24 million dollar film center.

On October 31st, a new horror film festival was announced taking place in Mt. Hood, Oregon with the same dates that were claimed by the Stanley Hotel. Those dates were April 27th - 30th.
