5 Rock Songs Made Into Lullabies That Are Just Wrong [VIDEO]
You may have heard of Rockabye Baby.
It is a collection of rock music songs played on simple instruments to make it more friendly to newborns and very young children.
I first learned of it when one of my friends sent me the Led Zeppelin and Beatles CD's. These albums are awesome. They are spot on remakes of my all time favorites. Super cool. So, I went to Spotify to see what else was out there, and put the full list on shuffle.
Pretty soon, I found myself humming along to a familiar sound. Then the lyrics came out of my mouth, as I was changing my baby.
'Drivin' that train, high on..." Wait. What? Am I singing Casey Jones by the Grateful Dead to my baby?
Yes, I was.
That inspired this list of five songs that Rockabye Baby music rerecorded, but probably shouldn't have.

Casey Jones - The Grateful Dead
Switchman sleepin' train, 102, is on the wrong track and headed for you.
Drivin' that train, high on cocaine. Casey Jones you better watch your speed.
Trouble ahead, trouble behind, and you know that notion just crossed my mind.
It's an all time Dead classic, but I change the lyrics to something like 'munchin' romaine', or 'life is not plain'. I know he doesn't understand English yet, but he does comprehend vibe.

AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long
Working double time
On the seduction line
She was one of a kind, she's just mine all mine
Wanted no applause
Just another course
Made a meal out of me and came back for more
Had to cool me down
To take another round
Now I'm back in the ring to take another swing
'Cause the walls were shaking
The earth was quaking
My mind was aching
And we were making it and youOur baby shakes us all night long, but not in that way. 'Made a meal out of me, and come back for more'? Good thing it's instrumental!

Judas Priest - Breaking the Law
There I was completely wasting, out of work and down
All inside it's so frustrating as I drift from town to town
Feel as though nobody cares if I live or die
So I might as well begin to put some action in my lifeBreaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the lawSo much for the golden future, I can't even start
I've had every promise broken, there's anger in my heart
You don't know what it's like, you don't have a clue
If you did you'd find yourselves doing the same thing tooBreaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the lawYeah. No.

Kanye West - Golddigger
She ain't messin' with no broke...broke.
It's very hilarious to hear this song played on toy pianos.

Nine Inch Nails - Hurt
I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's realThe needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everythingWhat have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
If you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurtMy son will be free to indulge in whatever kind of disaffected frustration he likes when he is older, and understands that such feelings exist. Until then, the music of Nine Inch Nails will stay on the big boy playlist.
Sheesh.
