While most of us can't even get out of the renters' market in Colorado, famous actors, rock stars and designers own lavish mountain retreats here. From Historic Victorians to Western boho-chic ranches, here are just a few we envy.

Ralph Lauren's Bohemian Mountain Ranch

Leave it to a designer to have the most stylish, rustic ranch around -- although this place is far from preppy.

Lauren and his wife retreat at their 16,000 acre ranch near the San Juan Mountains in Southern Colorado, and it's a Western boho-chic dream; vintage Airstream trailer and tipis included. Don't believe me? Check out all the Pinterest action.

Jack Nicholson's Historic Aspen Victorian

1980 was the year Jack Nicholson starred in Stephen King's The Shining, the horror story about a family snowed into a haunted mountain chateau in Colorado. It was also the same year he purchased a Victorian home in Aspen. 'Here's Johnny!'

Consider me green with envy. Nicholson no longer owns the historic 1890s Aspen home at 602 Lake Avenue. In 2013 it was sold by Aspen Broker Jen Engel for $11 million, and it resold again last year for $15 million, according to The Denver Post.

Telluride is (second...or third) home to superstars like Oprah, Tom Cruise and Jerry Seinfeld. The comedian has since sold this home, but back in 2011, Forbes showed everyone the inside of Jerry Seinfeld's $18 million Telluride mansion. See the photos here.

John Oates (one half of Hall & Oates) is selling his Aspen cabin -- but this place is anything but quaint and rustic.

1214 Woody Creek Road in Aspen is currently listed on Zillow for $4.8 million, which is lower than its original asking price of $6 million in June, according to The Denver Post. You can see more photos of the property at Aspen Associates Realty.

Kevin Costner's Aspen Retreat

The actor once told Vanity Fair, 'When we went on vacation, we never stayed in motels. We couldn’t afford them. My earliest experiences were with canvas tents and a Coleman stove, and I found something in that that spoke to me.'

Now Costner has a getaway in the Colorado mountains (though, a tad more luxurious than a tent and camping stove, and we doubt he ever has to.. squat... in the woods if you know what I mean). Here's a peek at the property.

Now, excuse me while I go eat a bean burrito for dinner for the third night this week, and figure out how to make rent this month.
