Weld County Humane Society is at capacity, Greeley Tribune reports, so before this 4th of July, they are offering an adoption special.

For all animals over one year old at Humane Society of Weld County, adoption fees will be just $17.76 in celebration of Independence Day.

However, 4th of July is the time of the year when most pets go missing due to fireworks, the Humane Society shared on Facebook. For that reason, Humane Society of Weld County needs more shelter space.

Animal control officials across the country report a 30% increase in lost pets each year between July 4th and 6th.  July 5th is one of the busiest days of the year for shelters. - PR Newswire
