The Veteran’s Memorial Committee will hold their annual Veterans’ Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. at Bittersweet Park, at 35th Avenue and 16th Street in Greeley. The ceremony will take place at the Weld County Veterans Memorial inside the park.

this year’s ceremony will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, and it will feature a special memorial for the 28 Weld County soldiers who died during the conflict. Maj. Gen. H. Michael Edwards, the Adjutant General for Colorado, will speak at the event. The Brentwood Middle School band and the Greeley Chorale will perform as well.

Veterans Day Service at First United Methodist

The First United Methodist Church at 917 10th Ave., will hold a Veterans’ Day service 6 p.m. Sunday. That service will feature a concert tribute to veterans, as well as patriotic music from the church’s hand-bell players. Four veterans are also scheduled to speak.

Free UNC Game for Veterans

Military veterans who show their military ID at the box office will receive a free ticket when the University of Northern Colorado women’s basketball team plays the CU Buffs at 7 p.m. Friday, November 11, in Bank of Colorado Arena at Butler-Hancock Athletic Center on the UNC campus. Tickets are available at the arena box office starting at 5:30 p.m. on game day. The free tickets do not include family members.
