There is another railroad crossing in Weld County that needs crossing arms. A Loveland man was killed Monday morning when a train hit his pickup truck near Platteville.

According to the Greeley Tribune: 66-year-old Lloyd Rosa Windbigler was driving south on Highway 85, when he turned onto Weld County Road near Platteville and tried to cross the railroad tracks.

Two locomotives were heading south on the tracks. They struck the driver’s side of Windbigler’s truck. There were no railroad crossing arms to block the truck’s path. Windbigler was taken to Denver Health Medical Center by helicopter, where he died about an hour later.

Please people, look both ways at every railroad crossing. Trains can't stop. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of everyone involved.
