The Denver Nuggets traded stars Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups to the New York Knicks on Monday night, according to several reports. The Nuggets also sent some bench warmers in Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman. In return the Nuggets received Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks' 2014 first-round pick, the Warriors' 2012 and 2013 second-round picks and $3 million in cash. Its about time!

The trade rumors and drama surrounding them have been all over not just the local news and sports scene, but reached an annoying level nationally as well. It was clear that Anthony didn't want to sign the huge extension the Nuggets offered him, and wanted to play in New York. The Nuggets received offers and dealt with numerous teams regarding Anthony, but to no avail, as no one wanted him unless he would sign a contract with them. It was obvious he would rather take a pay cut and deal with all the drama, that he said he hated, then play anywhere but New York.

As a huge fan of the Nuggets since before they drafted Carmelo I am saddened and a little bit mad that he would do this! All the love, the support, and finances the Nuggets fans put into him to be treated like this, to me is complete disrespect! What happened to guys playing their whole careers and putting their blood, sweat, and tears into making the city who gave them so much all that they have? It doesn't exist today! Guys want to win, and instead of bettering themselves and their teammates and making homemade championship teams, they go where they think they will win instantly. It really turns me off from the NBA, and many other fans as well. I usually am a pretty positive person, but I have to say that I hope this whole Melo experiment in New York fails! Go Nuggets!
