It was a normal evening for the Robarts Family, David Robarts was sitting in his living room with his wife and their son was asleep upstairs. His wife a 5th grade teacher was grading papers when all of a sudden a mountain lion burst through an unlatched glass patio door at around 10:40 p.m. Sunday. David jumped up and started screaming on the top of his lungs. The lion got within 2 feet of Robarts but ran out of the house, apparently startled by the screaming. The reason for the lion entering the home in the first place was that it was following the family cat into the house.

I think (the mountain lion) was more surprised than I was. It saw the cat as prey and went after it as food. And as soon as it realized it was in a house, it left immediately.

According to State Fish and Wildlife biologist this has only happened twice in Southern California in the last 19 years. Thankfully no one was hurt. I can't imagine sitting at home relaxing and having a mountain lion bust into my living room.
