Entomophagy is the human consumption of insects as food. The eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults of certain insect species have been eaten by humans from prehistoric times to present day.

It's not that unusual of practice outside of America and a Bear Grylls reality show. According to Wikipedia, over 1,000 species of insects are known to be eaten in 80% of the world's nations.

Taking that into account, The Growing Project will be hosting Eating Bugs 101 with Terri Randolph and Rachael Sitz, who research agricultural, garden, and landscape insect pests at CSU. They will cover what insects are edible, how to prepare insects, and why you should incorporate them as part of your diet. They will even have samples, kind of like Costco on the weekend, but with a more bug taste.
