Northern Colorado Staycations You Wouldn’t Believe are Minutes Away
'Staycation all I ever wanted, staycation have to get away but not too far because I don't have that much time off work.' -- The Go-Go's. (Kind of.)
Lucky for us, a peaceful, scenic weekend away from our everyday lives is just a short drive away. In some cases, you don't even have to leave the city to get a little R&R. Check out these rustic resorts and bed and breakfasts right here in our backyard.
Edwards House
If you're thinking 'luxury,' the historic Edwards House in Old Town would be the best option after a night of wining and dining in Downtown Fort Collins. See photos here.
Wilder-Nest Retreats
Wilder-Nest Retreats is 'Your Retreat to a Less Complicated Time.' So, if you're really looking a get away from your overwhelming day-to-day life, this is a bit more out of town -- and a bargain at $79.99 per night. Though it's just minutes outside of Loveland, Wilder-Nest Retreats is located on 100 open acres in the foothills and sure to give you a healthy dose of nature.

The Horsetooth Hideaway
You've driven past this a million times on your way around Horsetooth. Forget camping when it's this cold at night. Why not turn off your phone for the weekend, do some spring hiking during the day, grab a bite with the bikers at the The Canyon Grill and stay the night overlooking the reservoir? It's less than ten minutes from Fort Collins, but you'll feel like you've escaped the hustle and bustle.
