A 21-year-old Larimer County man was not wearing a helmet when he crashed on his snowboard last week.

According to Westword, Nathan Enright had recently moved to Larimer County for school, and passed away following an accident at Keystone.

The Daily Herald reported that Enright hit a tree on the slopes, and was eventually taken off life support after suffering head trauma. On December 2, Summit Daily stated that a 23-year-old skier who was wearing a helmet, hit a tree at Monarch Ski Area, and passed away from head trauma as well.

The ski resorts in Colorado have only been open since mid October, making two fatalities in under two months. Trees are the common factor in both incidents. If you hit the slopes this season, remember to stay on the designates trails, out of the trees and always wear a helmet.
