Old Fall River Road in Rocky Mountain National Park is usually open by the 4th of July, but not this year.

According to a press release from RMNP, Old Fall River Road's opening is delayed due to late-season snow, as late as June 23, 2019. However, it's expected to open by Saturday, July 13 — weather permitting.

'The road is currently closed to all uses, including bicycles and pedestrians Tuesday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and open Saturday, Sunday and Monday to bicycles and pedestrians,' RMNP said. 'This schedule will continue until the road opens to vehicles.'

Old Fall River Road is a winding, narrow, one-way dirt road leading to Trail Ridge Road, which was also forced to close shortly after opening for the season due to snowstorms.
