What do I play when I'm not on the radio, you ask?

To tell the truth, my non-radio playlist usually features quite a few songs that are on TRI 102.5.

I'm not schilling for my station here. We truly play a great variety of music. There are also songs that are not on the station's playlist that make my live DJ sets.

You are unlikely to hear too much T Pain or Flo Rida on your trusty 'Best Variety' station.

But you might hear them at one of my gigs, like the Boos and Brews party on Friday night (Oct. 30, 2105) at the Anheuser Busch Brewery's Biergarten. I'm excited to be part of such a big night, and such a big party.

My philosophy on being the guy picking the music is to not just be the guy picking the music. I'm dancing, that's for sure, but it's not about making me dance. It's about making you dance. So, I just listen.

The best place to do research on what the crowd wants to hear is the crowd. When someone from the dance floor asks me to play a song, that is empirical, undeniable evidence that someone on the floor wants to hear that song. That doesn't always mean that their request is a good idea, but it's a good indicator.

So, if you are looking for a great night of Halloween fun with a DJ that just wants to play what you want to hear, this is it.

And wait until you see my costume... :) I may be DJ Spidey...I may have to be something else.

It's a free party and is 21 and over after 7 p.m. on Oct. 30 at the Biergarten at Anheuser Busch Brewery.
