Super Bowl XLV

Well Super Bowl XLV is officially in the books and this year's game wasn't without its low moments and big plays!  It's amazing how 1 football game can draw the ire of so many people and the adoration of so many fans within the same 4 hour span of time.

Of course, everyone is mad at Christina Aguilera's flub of the National Anthem...I mean come on, its not like they asked you 4 hours before kickoff to do them a solid and lend your vocals to the most well known song in the country...you had plenty of time to prepare yourself and get your lines straight!  Needless to say it wasn't the smoothest start to the most watched televised event in American history, but once that pigskin was launched into the air to kickoff Superbowl XLV all was forgiven.  All the questions were finally going to be answered...Will Ben Roethlisberger be able to redeem himself of all the off-the-field, post-season drama?  Will the Steelers win their 7th title?  Will Aaron Rodgers be able to shake Brett Favre's shadow?  Will some drunken, crazed Packer fan streak accross the field at halftime?  Well, football fans...Big Ben came up short, the Steelers lost, and Aaron Rodgers did indeed shake the shadow of Brett Favre and he did it by doing something Brett never did...by becoming the Superbowl MVP!  As far as a drunken fan streaking across the field at halftime...lets face it...it may have been more entertaining than the actual performance that did happen!  The sound was horrible, Fergie butchered "Sweet Child 'O Mine", Usher proved he couldn't dance and sing at the same time, and the entire subpar performance left me wanting more.  Something more memorable...maybe something from the pre-Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunciton era.  Anyways, to sum it all up....the game was an amazing back and forth nail biter.  The halftime show stunk and the famed Superbowl commermercials didn't impress me.  However, I can't wait for Superbowl XLVI featuring the Denver Broncos and the Chicago Bears!  A game which will feature Tim Tebow floating a 60 yard bomb to Brandon Lloyd in the final seconds of the 4th quarter to stun the Bears and crush Jay Cutler so badly he decides to retire immediately following the game!
