The suspect in the Colorado East Bank & Trust robbery in Severance has been identified. Deputies with the Weld County Sheriff’s Office detained two suspects and conducted a thorough investigation of the incident. Rachel Einspahr was arrested as a result of that investigation. She is currently being held at the Weld County Jail.

Einspahr is accused of taking an undisclosed amount of money after giving a note demanding money to the teller through the drive thru window at the bank.

Einspahr passed a note to the teller through the vacuum tube at the drive thru window, stating that there was a man in her car who wanted money. The note went on to say that the man was threating to harm her children. The Bank Teller, under the assumption that lives were in danger, gave her $500. Investigators discovered that Einspahr was a local babysitter; the two children she was employed to babysit were in the vehicle with her at the time of the incident. The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is happy to report that the children were not harmed during the commission of this crime.

Einspahr has been charged with Robbery and two counts of Child Abuse.
