Colorado republican senator Cory Gardner announced Monday that the Trump Administration will move the headquarters of the Bureau of Land Management to Grand Junction.

The move would put officials closer to the land they're responsible for.

Cory Garner told The New York Times:

“The problem with Washington is too many policymakers are far removed from the people they are there to serve. Ninety-nine percent of the land the B.L.M. manages is west of the Mississippi River, and so should be the B.L.M. headquarters.”

However, News 9 is reporting that a spokeswoman who did not want to be identified said she couldn't confirm or deny the move. The agency manages 388,000 square miles of land and has about nine thousand employees.
