With Superbowl XLV just 13 days away its time to start thinking about who to cheer for during the big game! First , let me just say that the Pittsburgh Steelers have become what the Dallas Cowboys became for many people in the 90's and, most recently, what the New England Patriots became at the beginning of the decade...BORING! It's hard to get excited about watching the same team go to the Superbowl year, after year, after year (this is the 3rd time in 6 seasons that Pittsburgh has gone to the Superbowl). I wonder what the storyline will be this year...during Superbowl XL it was Jerome Betis going back to his hometown of Detroit to possibly win a ring...during Superbowl XLIII it was whether or not the Steelers could become the only franchise in NFL history to win 6 championships...this year most of the media is focusing on all the turmoil Big Ben Roethlisberger was facing coming into this season and whether or not he would he be able to overcome all the distractions in order to have a successful year. Well, here he is, ready to play in Superbowl XLV...a game that features 2 of the leagues best defenses matching up to go toe to toe. I know I sound a little bitter, after all, my Denver Broncos had one of their worst years in franchise...but having a co-worker who is a Pittsburgh native continually prowl the hallways in his favorite Black and Gold gear and constantly blast all forms of Pittsburgh Steeler fight songs as loud as possible throughout the day can really wear on a person. Needless to say, I'll be putting on my huge foam cheese head on February 6th, and will be rooting for the Broncos...NEXT YEAR! GO PACK GO!
