According to a report from the U.S PIRG, there has been evidence of trace amounts of the weed killer, glyphosate, the main ingredient for Round Up found in a variety of beers, wines, and ciders.

According to the report, PIRG tested 20 different beers, wines and ciders and found weed killer in these brands with parts per billion

  • Budweiser 27 ppb
  • Corona Extra 25.1 ppb
  • Heineken 20.9 ppb
  • Guinness Draught 20.3 ppb
  • Stella Artois 18.7 ppb
  • New Belgium Fat Tire 11.2 ppb
  • Sam Adams New England IPA 11 ppb
  • Sierra Nevada Pale Ale 11.8 ppb
  • Samuel Smith's Organic Lager 5.7 ppb

CIDER

  • Stella Artois Cidre 9.1ppb
  • Ace Perry Cider 14.5 ppb

WINE

  • Sutter Home Merlot 51.4 ppb
  • Beringer Estates Moscato 42.6 ppb
  • Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon 36.3 ppb
  • Inkarri Estates Malbec: Certified Organic 5.3 ppb
  • Frey Organic Natural White Blend 4.8 ppb
